The new Wellness Walk held their Ribbon Cutting on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 11:00am at the start of their walk on Shepherd Brothers Boulevard.
This wellness walk is was established by the Building Communities for Better Health Coalition that created this route to increase physical activity around Moberly.
It has 22 prompts that will promote a certain activity, movement or healthy reminder on Shepherd Brothers Boulevard, Gratz Brown St, East Urbandale Drive, West Urbandale Drive and South Williams Street.
“Physical activity is so important, and the wellness walk is another great partnership showcasing the impact working together can have on our community. We encourage you to participate in this fun activity in our community,” said Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Megan Schmitt.
Attendees met by the shade tree and then MU Extension Nutrition Specialist, Candace Rodman talked about this project and what it entailed.
Take a selfie by a sign and use the hashtag #moberlywellnesswalk to be entered into a prize before July 1. Maps of the route can be found at the Randolph County Health Department or the MU Extension office.
The Building Communities for Better Health Coalition consists of the Randolph County Health Department, MU Extension of Randolph County, Moberly Parks and Recreation, Little Dixie Regional Libraries, ICAN Missouri Foundation, Compass Health Network, Burrell Behavioral Health, City of Moberly and the Randolph County Ministerial Alliance. Members in attendance took a picture.
