LOCAL CHURCH CELEBRATES COMPLETION OF STEEPLE PROJECT

Coates Street Presbyterian celebrated the completion of their new steeple with a ribbon cutting on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 12:00pm at 601 West Coates Street in Moberly.

After a lightning strike to the steeple on August 11, 2019, the structure suffered unrepairable damage and was removed. No one was hurt during the lighting strike.

Due to delays in insurance and engineering work, the rebuilding of the steeple didn’t begin until March of 2022. The steeple was officially placed back on the church and all of the work was completed on Monday, October 3, 2022.

In addition to the ribbon cutting, a proclamation was made by Representative Ed Lewis and a representative from Senator Cindy O’Loughlin’s office attended presenting an additional proclamation. Light refreshments were also served.

Besides the steeple repair the Church made some additional improvements to the interior of the building. The Church invites the community to attend their 130 Year Anniversary & Dedication on Sunday, April 30th at their 10:30am service. Following the service, a meal will be served and tours will be given to go up the bell tower.
