Rooted 242, held a Ribbon Cutting & Open House on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at 422 West Coates Street in Moberly which featured appearances from Missouri Lieutenant Governor, Mike Kehoe, Senator Cindy O’Laughlin and Representative Ed Lewis.

This new café will provide training and development for its employees that have aged out of the foster care system. In addition, all of the funds raised for this non-profit organization will go back into the older foster care of Randolph County.

Besides great food like scones, homemade bagels and lunch items they will also have meeting and training spaces, a family support room and have independent living apartment upstairs. They are currently in phase one of this three phase project.

This side of the building will be the training room.
The current construction of phase two of the project. Once this side is completed their hours will extend.

“Rooted 242 is a not only another great local eating spot, but provides much needed services for those in the foster care community. Their renovations are wonderful and we can’t wait to see their continued success,” said Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Megan Schmitt.

Rooted 242’s will officially open for their winters hours on Thursday, February 15, Friday, February 16 and Saturday, February 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Once phase two of their renovations are complete their hours will expand.
