The Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce held the first ever State of the Community Luncheon on November 9, 2022 at 11am. This sold out event featured around 110 attendees.
Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce Board President, Tim Seidel welcomed everyone to the event.
Executive Director of the Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce, Megan Schmitt welcomed everyone and thanked the event sponsors which were Moberly Regional Medical Center, Richard Thomas Family Farms and Fusion Technology.
A keynote speech was delivered by Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe who spoke on how the state is working on workforce initiatives and the importance of tourism as the State of Missouri's second largest industry.
Senator, Cindy O'Laughlin spoke about what she is working on such as education reform and ensuring all roads and bridges are usable for Missourians.
John Trusedale Randolph County Presiding Commissioner spoke about the importance of updating the county's 911 system, updating our roads and a new partnership program to create more housing due to the housing shortage that is throughout Randolph County.
City of Moberly Mayor Jerry Jeffrey introduced City Manager Brian Crane.
Moberly City Manager Brian Crane spoke about how the City is working on police retention, updating the 911 system, the Depot District development & grant programs and encouraged residents to be involved in the City by serving on various committees or submitting ideas to the City's website.
Tim Seidel closed the event by talking about the future of the Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce, that he and how there is a lot of exciting momentum, the Chamber's two recent awards and the Chamber will be rolling out new programs in 2023 to expand its small business services.
He encouraged attendees to be involved as possible with the Chamber and continue to support its efforts.
