A ribbon cutting for the PhabLab at Gratz Brown Elementary School was held on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 3:00pm at 1320 Gratz-Brown Street.

The PhabLab is a fabrication lab that includes a laser cutter, circuit, 3-D printers, robots and more for students to learn how to use and problem solve. Students are learning how to build science, engineering, technology and math (STEM) skills in the classroom that can be transferred to the real world.

Once students learn how to use the machines many of them are able to help the school district create and build things that they need. In addition, these labs are now in the elementary and middle school levels for all ages to learn from.

“The PhabLab is wonderful for our students to learn about how to create real world items. Not only is it a great STEM activity, but it has the potential to develop future entrepreneurship,” said Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Megan Schmitt.
